After a phenomenal performance at the Regional Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) competition earlier this week, 11 of our super talented Hair, Beauty and Make-Up students have secured a place at the national finals in Blackpool! More than 550 students from 19 colleges competed in the Regional Competition held at the Fed in Gateshead. Lola Richardson (second pic) came first in Feminine Bridal Make-Up, and second in Theatrical Aging Make-Up. She said: “I came sixth in last year’s regional competition and I’ve tried really hard to better myself in time for this year’s competition, so I feel really proud of myself. Crime, theft, domestic incidents and major emergencies... all in a day's work for our Policing students 🚔 We've just wrapped up our inter-college Policing competition which saw teams from different colleges showcasing their skills in front of Northumbria Police Officers. The competition was tight, but we're super proud of our students for coming second place. Shoutout to our beauty students for the realistic make-up and injuries, and our acting students for brining all the drama! Even the police said it felt like the real thing
